Additionally, Restasis Eye Drops might be prescribed for other reasons not covered in this medication guide.

Avoid letting the Restasis dropper touch any surfaces, including your eyes or hands, as it is sterile. Contamination could lead to an eye infection. Do not apply Restasis Eye Drops while wearing contact lenses. You may reinsert contact lenses 15 minutes after using Restasis Eye Drops, unless your physician advises otherwise. Avoid using Restasis Eye Drops if you have any eye infections.

This medication is classified under FDA pregnancy category C, indicating that it's uncertain whether it could harm an unborn child. Consult your doctor before using Restasis Eye Drops if you are pregnant or may become pregnant during treatment. It's unknown if cyclosporine is excreted in breast milk; consult your doctor before using Restasis Eye Drops if you are breastfeeding.

This eye medication is typically applied to the affected eye(s) twice daily, roughly 12 hours apart, or as instructed by your healthcare provider. To use the eye drops, first wash your hands. To prevent contamination, avoid touching the vial's tip or allowing it to touch your eye. Ensure the eye drops are well mixed by shaking the vial upside down several times before opening it. Open the vial just before use. The eye drops should appear milky and white. Tilt your head back, look up, and pull the lower eyelid down to create a pocket. Position the vial's tip directly over your eye and dispense 1 drop. Look down and gently close your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Avoid blinking and refrain from rubbing your eye.

Dispose of any remaining liquid in the opened vial immediately after use. Do not keep the opened vial for future applications. If you wear contact lenses, remove them prior to using this medication and do not reinsert them until 15 minutes after administering these eye drops.

If you are using additional drops for dry eyes (such as artificial tears), wait 15 minutes between using the different products.
